This manual includes the techniques of basic immunology, autoimmune diseases, tumor immunology, transplant immunology and immunohistochemistry, described by various authors from time-to-time. These techniques have been standardized and modified in our laboratory. <br/><br/>Most of the tests have been standardized in our laboratory, keeping our limited facilities and economic constraints, prevalent at most of Indian Centers in order to make it more useful, easily performed and selectively hassle free. It includes mostly practical aspect of the tests. We hope that this manual will help both medical and nonmedical students to perform tests of basic and transplant immunology, tumor immunology, autoimmune diseases and immunohistochemistry in their laboratory. This manual provides broad overview to different techniques that are commonly used in modern research. Each chapter provides a brief introduction, the procedures and limitations in executing the various procedures along with interpretation of the result. Reagents’ preparation has been well described. The other aim is to provide a better access to the scientific knowledge and to allow the researchers to critically evaluate the results and conclusions. Those working in the field of biological or medical research at any level will definitely benefit from this manual. This manual integrates older as well as newer techniques that will further enhance the learning experience.
