DOODY'S BOOK REVIEW
REVIEWER'S EXPERT OPINION

Jeffrey Lowell, MD(Washington University School of Medicine)

Description

This is an overview of liver transplantation for senior-level residents or beginning fellows.

Purpose

From the history of transplantation to complications following transplant, this book accomplishes the authors' objectives of presenting a clear, concise synopsis.

Audience

The intended audience is current fellows in training, but the book is also appropriately written for general surgical residents rotating through transplantation as well as other healthcare providers participating in the care of transplant patients.

Features

What's nice about this book is that it covers nearly everything in transplant from preoperative evaluation to late complications, both medical and surgical.

Assessment

This book does a great job of filling the need for a comprehensive book for fellows or other care providers training in the field of transplantation. It provides an adequate overview without being too superficial.
